Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

We have been filing: married/jointly for decades, yet Turbotax is asking each of us to enter our AGI from the previous year when we only have one number to enter. Huh?

Since we have been filing jointly we only have one AGI. Why is TurboTax asking us separately to enter our own AGI?

TurboTax is not asking for your own separate AGI. It's asking for the AGI on the 2023 tax return that you filed. You enter the same amount for both of you - the amount on line 11 of your 2023 Form 1040.

If you filed a joint return for 2023, then the AGI on line 11 of your 2023 Form 1040 is the same for each of you.   You just enter it twice to keep the software happy.
