Unresolvable glitch

2021 1040 -SR - TurboTax Deluxe:

1) Printed Return reports Tax-exempt interest (line 2a) of $37,477, but only $1,626 was received, reported and/or entered (via an estate K-1). As a result, state return incorrectly added $35,851 of income to be taxed [IL return was filed and taxes paid on phantom income] and the program will not allow me to fix this.

2) Oddly, Income Summary Page shows $114,749 total for Dividends on 1099-DIV; however when I click on that highlighted number, it correctly show dividends of $78,898 and that correct number is printed on the return. Bizarrely, the difference between those 2 numbers [ 114,749 minus 78,898] is $35,851, which is the same difference between the numbers for the tax-exempt interest [37,477 minus 1,626] = 35,851

3) When I attempt to amend the return, these amounts cannot be corrected - how do I get this phantom number to go away?

That can be right.  I have dividends on a 1099Div that are tax exempt interest so they show up under interest.

VolvoGirl: You're right! Box 11 on the 1099.

Thanks for so quickly clearing that up; I should have caught that sooner.
