Unfortunately, you must have a tax identification number...

SSN or EIN was not provided by several contractors I hired. Didn't get W9 prior to payments. TurboTax forms 1099 will not let me leave the SSN/EIN blank. How to proceed?

Unfortunately, you must have a tax identification number for each Form 1099 that you prepare. Your best option is to contact the contractor directly and request either a completed W-9 or at least the tax id number. Otherwise, you will not be able to provide that vendor with a 1099 this year.
