Unclaimed funds from NY State, which was from my Mother, how do I show this as? Is it a gift, inheritance, or income. I received a 1099-B and 1099-Misc, which shows a dollar amount. That amount is more than at time of death?

What type of unclaimed funds? Why did the amount increase? Interest?

Generally, unclaimed funds would be considered an inheritance since you received it due to your mothers death.
