I am on social security and long-term disability through my former employment. I claimed earned income credit this year and received a larger refund than last year. Is it ok that did that? The criteria for EIC changed for 2021 so even folks who were previously ineligible were able to get EIC in some cases. If your disability is reported on a W-2 then you may still be able to get EIC based on that income.

If the long term disability was reported on a W-2 for 2021 then you were eligible for the EIC up to the age of 65 ... enjoy worry free.
