Hello, on my W-2, box 19 has 2 numbers, 1 for UI/WF/S and another 1 for FLI. How to I report this while filing, is it considered local income tax or would I place it where box 14 numbers should be?

Yes, you are correct, this is actually box 14 information.

On the W-2 Form:

  • Box 18 is the amount of local wages.
  • Box 19 is the local tax withheld from your paycheck.
  • Box 20 is the name of the locality.

The figures your citing are for unemployment insurance and family leave. They belong in box 14.

So should I not enter it in the local tax + locality field even though it's in those boxes. Mine looks similar to this W2Screen Shot 2022-01-31 at 5.06.44 PM.png

Correct, you can enter the info in your Box 18 and 19 in Box 14 (which is miscellaneous info, not used in calculating your tax return).

Sometimes employers improperly place other data in Boxes 18-19 because they think that they are unused boxes, but might cause the TurboTax review to flag it as an error.
