I am frustrated..
I am preparing Joint return for my parents. They both have individual 1099-NEC as independent contractor.
They both are self-employed so TT should create two schedule C and enter two 1099-NEC ( Both are coming from One business with X amount).
TT is combining both 1099-NEC in one and creating only one Schedule -C for one of the person name as sole proprietor.
Turbotax, Please fix the software. I will be happy to show you the problem on zoom. PM me.
Update 1-23-2021: I did something and now there are two schedule C as I wanted. I am sure software has some issue. But I am not going to try to reproduce it. My problem is solved at least. Hope next update will not mess up my return.

Preparing the 1099NEC is separate from your personal return. You should be ably to start a new 1099 return to prepare a different 1099NEC filing.
I assume you are using the Desktop Home & Business program? On Windows or Mac? You can have more than 1 Schedule C. Enter them one at a time. To add another business or Schedule C….
Go to Business tab-Continue
Business Income and Expenses
Profit or Loss from Business, click Start or Update.
You should see the Business Summary page that lists your businesses, right below the list you can Add Another Business.
Be sure to add it under the right spouse if you are married.
To get the income on the right person's schedule C....you don't actually need to enter the 1099NEC. Just enter it as Cash or General income. You don't need to get a 1099NEC or 1099K. Even if you did you can enter all your income as Cash. Only the total goes to schedule C.
My wife and I have several businesses that we track as separate Schedule C businesses. Mine, Insurance Agent, Coach, Trade Show Services. Hers Bookkeeping. I cannot get TurboTax to keep the 1099-NEC info for each of these businesses properly assigned to that business. Help!
Be sure you are entering the 1099-NEC information attributable to a business when you are in the section of TurboTax for that particular business. Please follow these steps:
Or like I said.....you really don't need to enter the 1099NECs. Just enter it as Other self employment income or as Cash or General income. You don't need to get a 1099NEC or 1099K. Even if you did you can enter all your income as Cash. Only the total goes to schedule C.
Thank you for your detailed instructions - However, when I follow them they do not work as intended,
I have three businesses Insurance Agent, Trade Show Services, Safe Boating Instructor, and my wife has one business Bookkeeping.
I so far have one 1099-NEC for Insurance Agent so on the "Here's the Business Info we have so far" I clicked Edit to add that 1099-NEC, then update against "Business Income"then update against 1099-NEC Income (initially showing 0 for 2020 ) On the Lets get the Info from your 1099-NEC page, the Payee field is already populated with one of the payees for my wifes BOOKKEEPING business which has nothing to do with my Insurance Agency business, I can overtype with the Insurance Agency related 1099-NEC (NAME, PAYERS TIN, AND AMOUNT)
Clicking continue, business Income looks right.
So I now go to Bookkeeping business to add/edit her 1099-NECs
A box appears that has a number 2 in it. if I click on it it shows the 1099-NEC detail for the 1099-NEC info for the Insurance Agency income I just entered above - nothing to do with Bookkeeping! If I "delete" it, and then add the two 1099-NEC's I have so far for her business I get the correct income (so far) for Bookkeeping. BUT
the income on my one 1099-NEC for Insurance Agent is no longer showing up on the income for that business. So I page through the NEC's shown, using "continue" add the ONE 1099-NEC for Insurance and NOW all 1099-NEC are moved to Insurance - none against Bookkeeping.
What on earth am I doing wrong!
You should probably follow @Irene2805 's instructiosn closely.
You may have entered your 1099-NEC separately in the "1099-MISC and Other Common Income'" area. Do not enter it there...enter it only after you get within the actual Business income area .
TTX probably needs to take out that outside entry area form their data input menu....See the following extensive conversation describing the problem for others:

@ThomsonJD .......We were typing at the same time.....but No, i do not know how to create 3 separate businesses within the Business income area...a couple others in here are more experienced.
