TurboTax Premier 2023 for Mac - Form 1116 Gross Income From All Sources

I'm using TurboTax Premier 2023 for Mac.  Line 3e shows "Gross Income From All Sources" as coming from the "Gross Income From All Sources Smart Worksheet."  If I right or left click on the number in the smart worksheet box, nothing happens, so I cannot see the source of the number.  Is this just a function of the TurboTax version for Mac?

TurboTax Premier 2023 for Mac - Form 1116 Gross Income From All Sources

Thank you for the detail.  I'm able to recalculate the number; I'm a CPA and familiar with the calculations.  I mainly wanted to find out about the functionality for the smart worksheet.  I have to assume that it is nonexistent in the version for Mac. Oh well.  Thank you again!

TurboTax Premier 2023 for Mac - Form 1116 Gross Income From All Sources

Did you or anyone confirm that the "Gross Income from All Sources Smart Worksheet" (mentioned in TurboTax Help for Form 1116, Line 3e) is unavailable to Mac users?

TurboTax Premier 2023 for Mac - Form 1116 Gross Income From All Sources

I wasn't able to confirm that the Form 1116 "Gross Income from All Sources Smart Worksheet" is unavailable to Mac users for 2023 and 2024 tax years.  But I still can't access it using TurboTax for Mac, so I have to assume it's available only for Windows users.  It would be nice if Intuit would confirm this.

No.  That is not accurate.  Form 1116 IS AVAILABLE in the MAC program.  If you are not getting it, it may be how you are answering the questions.  Since you are using the download version, you can go to forms mode and open it.

You will find the questions for the foreign tax credit under Deductions and Credits>>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid>>Foreign Taxes

No, you are incorrect.  Please reread my comment again more carefully.  I did not say that Form 1116 was not available in TurboTax for Mac.  I referred to the "Smart Worksheet" for Form 1116 not being viewable in TurboTax for Mac.

Which part of the worksheet/smart worksheet are you saying is not available?  I am able to view the entire worksheet on my MAC.

TurboTax Premier 2023 for Mac - Form 1116 Gross Income From All Sources

I had recently inquired about access to the "Gross Income from All Sources Smart Worksheet" and discovered that it is accessible on a Mac when viewing Form 1116 by going to "View", then click "Show Smart Worksheets". The issue I have is that the worksheet only displays within that small box:

Gross Income form All Sources Smart Worksheet

A  Calculated gross income from all sources  ________

B  Adjustment amount (positive to increase, negative to decrease  _________

What I was hoping to see was a breakdown or itemized display of how the "A  Calculated gross income from all sources" was calculated, but it only shows the total without any additional breakdown. The TurboTax note for Line 3e, gross income from all sources just says that this number "is calculated for you automatically." I'd like to see how that total was calculated in a worksheet or report of some kind, but it seems that TurboTax doesn't show that calculation anywhere.

I do see that the smart worksheet is viewable using the Mac desktop version for 2024, but that worksheet for Gross Income from All Sources doesn't show enough information. It would be most helpful if it included a breakdown of the "Calculated gross income from all sources" so that users can review. Tax preparers usually provide a worksheet breaking down and summarizing the items that are used in the calculations for  Form 1116, Page 1, Line 3e Gross Income from All Sources, and it seems reasonable that TurboTax could do the same, simply showing the calculations used.
