Hello,
I purchased the TurboTax PC Premium online, and use the activate code to activate the software, why at the end it charges me extra fees for premium services?

Thanks for the screen shot. There is a separate fee to efile the state return. In the Desktop program you get one free state PROGRAM download to prepare unlimited state returns. Then each state return (including the first one) is $25 to efile. Or you can print and mail state for free. Then you got a $10 rebate from the store which is automatically applied to the $25 fee so the fee is only $15.
Then you selected to have the fee deducted from your refund. There is an Extra $40 Refund Processing Service charge (45 in California) for that which you can avoid by paying the state efile fee with a credit card.
Go back through the File tab. You have to be careful what you click on when you file, go slowly. There is one screen that can trip you up. People get going to fast and click the bottom right button to continue. But to pay by credit card you need to check the Left button.
If you have not e-filed yet--stop. You should pay the $25 state e-file fee with a credit card instead of choosing to pay it from your federal refund. If you choose to pay from your refund, you are allowing the federal refund to go first to a third party bank. That banks takes out the $25 you owe to TurboTax, pockets $45 for itself, and sends the rest of the refund to you. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO THAT. Pay upfront with your own debit or credit card before you e-file. Look really closely at the screens that led up to that. You can choose to pay using a credit card instead of from your refund.
