Can I complete my returns (Fed & State) without providing SS#s or TINs? Can I just enter all 9s as was suggested in a different thread for spouse SS#?

I do not plan to efile but instead would print the returns, correct/add the SS #s, and then file via physical mail.

Yes, you can enter "dummy" Social Security Number's (SSN's) or Individual Tax Identification Number's (ITIN's) in TurboTax. You must enter SSN's and ITIN's in order for Turbotax to correctly calculate tax credits and deductions.

Thanks HelenC12. But if correct calculations are assured only if SS/ITIN #s are supplied then doesn't seem to be useful. What am I missing? Btw, I certainly would expect pay for TT either upfront or before printing my returns.

The program needs a real number. It doesn't have to be your number, but it has to be legitimate. The program can detect fakes.
