Great question, but I don't think folks will yet know at this point.  All I know is this FAQ below, which only says Intuit "may" restrict the 2025 software.   You'll have to see if you get additional comments in this thread.

They are likely a bit skittish of the potential security issues for users who don't pay Microsoft, and any case they would have to test it on Windows 10 machines as they developing it before making a final decision.  It does give them the excuse to push more people toward Online TurboTax.

FAQ:  How does the end of support for Windows 10 affect my TurboTax Desktop experience?

I'm also planning to purchase the extended support for Win 10.  I guess after a couple decades of giving TTax my money, maybe HRBlock will get it in future.  Tax software is a very "sticky" purchase, once you make the move to a competitor and invest in that learning curve, you are almost impossible to get back.

When I wrote my answer above last April, the FAQ I mentioned only said that 2025 TurboTax

"may" not be supported on Windows 10.   They have since updated that FAQ and removed the "may."  It now states outright that for Windows users, the upcoming TurboTax 2025 will only run on Windows 11 (64 bit) and that it won't install on Windows 10.

I haven't seen anything yet about whether HR Block for 2025 is planning for their desktop product to install on Windows 10, so I don't know if they have made a decision.

April:  TT "may" not support Win 10.  Now, definitely won't.  WTH?

There are still many more Win 10 users than Win 11.  Microsoft is continuing Win 10 support for a year, if you sign up.  Win 11 may require a new computer.  And TT can't keep it going?

Not comfortable with all my personal info being on Intuit's servers.  What a trove for hacking.

Have used TT for decades, but am looking at H&R block or other more 2025 taxes.

    Fix this, Inuit!

there are certain obnoxious feature that come standard with w11 though they can be uninstalled or disabled. One Drive automatically store copies of documents you create on Google One Drive. you worry about your info being ion Intuit's servers. that's no different than your data being stored on the web in One Drive.  MS Edge which is now an integral part of the W11 OS allows MS to track your browsing history. clearing that after use may do nothing to prevent you from getting targeted ads. Might Try a different browser but do they all snoop to target ads.
