Hello, I'm preparing my taxes on TurboTax deluxe. In the very end I'm seeing a message from the software stating I'll be getting a W2C from my employer. I just spoke with my employer and I was told my W2 is accurate and will not be corrected.
I've double checked everything I've entered from my W2. Can someone tell me why the software is stating that I'll get a correction?

You can probably ignore it..
......just go back into your W-2 and make sure box 4 is 6.2% of box 3 in the software form
......just had someone who had to round their box 4 $$$.36 to greater than $$$.50 to clear it out....something stupid like that. so if it's close....ignore it, you can file anyhow as the notice doesn't stop anything.......probably a mistaken notice. The notice doesn't get filed.
Thank you for the response.
The numbers are accurate to the last decimal point. Not sure if anything else might be off. Could it be because TurboTax truncates the decimal values and rounds off the amount?
I've tried all sorts of rounding situations....but haven't tried truncating any values (yet).
TTX needs to work it out themselves....or get rid of the notice entirely...it's really not necessary at this time.....and, as you noticed..is just confusing the situation.
Many folks, won't even be getting their 2020 W-2C's until early 2022 (if truly warranted. Virtually all military folks whose basic pay was ~8666.66/mo or less, will be getting one next year).
