Hello,
I just went through the whole turbotax program, was at the final spot where I eFile. It already did the final review, went back and made a couple corrections, did another review and confirmed everything is good to go. I had saved the PDF file for my records. It showed me owing $800. I gave it my bank account number, and everything required to do the federal e-File. When I clicked on the final button to file, i got a pop up saying it needed one more piece of information that it didn't ask me for before. It took me to a spot on the form where it asked me if my spouse was living with me.
Now before we get much further I will add: I am not married! I don't have a spouse! Why is it asking me if my spouse lives with me, when I already told it I am single at the very beginning! FYI, I am divorced. My X has not lived here for almost 3 years. We filed separately last year. so this is not the first time we filed separately.
Anyway, it took me to a box about whether or not my spouse was living with me. it said I had to make sure it was UNchecked. I don't have a spouse and my X has not been living with me for almost 3 years and we have not filed together since 2015. So i verified that it should be UNchecked.
IN THAT INSTANT, without any opportunity for me to see anything, BOOM, it filed my taxes. And as it was doing so, it CHANGED THE AMOUNT I OWE FROM $800 TO $2100, AND IT FILED THE TAXES.
I happened to notice that the numbers at the top had changed and naturally said WHAT THE??????? Two seconds ago it said I was going to be paying $800 and it changed to $2100 with no explanation or warning?!?!?
So I went back into my personal info to see what happened.... maybe it thinks I'm married now or something... and guess what happened. ALL THE NUMBERS WENT BACK TO WHAT THEY WERE, without me doing anything!!!!! Just by looking at the personal info, it went back to owing $800.
Naturally I went back to the eFile status and it says "pending" meaning it's too late to change it.
What the heck, Turbotax????
Now I have saved another PDF and I have two different PDFs, one showing I owe $800 and one showing I paid $2100.
I am certain that the higher amount $2100 was actually submitted to the IRS and that's what is going to be taken out of my account.
How can i fix this? This is absolutely ridiculous.

Turbotax online over charged me by double what I paid for last year. I called customer service and they said they cannot give a refund for any of their online services. I chose the deluxe option, not the LIVE DELUXE that it showed I did which added 50.00 to my bill.
30 minutes prior to this, I had finished my daughters taxes USING THE DELUX NOT THE LIVE DELUXE
Last year I chose the Deluxe option. The computer glitched and they won't refund me. Even if it were a mistake, a quality honest company would simply refund the overcharge of 50.00
According to them, if you want any change of a refund for any reason it would need to be from a DVD purchase not online.
