Thanks to the latest TurboTax update the software freezes (spinning beach ball) when trying to print from a Mac. It seems every year we suffer through this nonsense. The software worked 3 weeks ago when I prepared another return. And yes I have the latest Mac software running.

Please reread my issue. The software updated just fine as everything worked until I tried to print. Every other application can print just fine. Turbotax becomes unresponsive when trying to print. Turbotax printed before the last update. The update caused the issue.
You don't understand. TT Premier 2022 for Mac (Intel) is BROKEN. When I try to print anything from TT it pops up a box that says "Printing" with an activity bar that moves back and forth. That's as far as it gets. Moving the cursor from that window results in the beach ball of death. The only way to get out is to force quit.
I have verified that printing works on my Intel Mac for all programs except TT 2022. have also forced it to re-download the last update per the online instructions on this site. I cannot proceed with my taxes until this is fixed.

Hello, I’ll be addressing this issue myself later today. Did you get your printer working using these steps? Thanks in advance!

@PDXLori
I am also on an Intel mac platform and had similar printing problems when using the desktop software previous years. I assume you tried rebooting the mac since you updated TT.
I HIGHLY recommend in the future switching to TT Online. I've had zero printing problems.
The only downside to the Online version (that I know) is you give up some control and cannot make changes at the Forms level. Yes I know some are concerned with security, but honestly most of our SS#'s are probably breached by now anyway.
I'm facing the same problem. I just spent a long time with support agent who gave up and just told me to wait "24 to 48 hours" for no apparent reason. I filed with turbotax online for the last 8 yrs and could download immediately without issues. Trying desktop this time and it was a disaster. No one to help and I can't get my tax returns.
I told them to help me transfer this to online or to another machine so I can try from there, but they said they won't do it.
Wondering if I should go to another tax software from next year.
Take it from me, you will reduce massive head banging by switching to Online if you're on a mac.
I am having this same problem! I've used the same downloaded program on my mac for years without issue. This year the program buffers as soon as I try to print requiring me to force close the program. Has anyone figured out a way to print??
Yes, I solved it on my machine. Ask TT to print. It will hang up and TT will become unresponsive. In the interim if you run activity monitor you will find that one CPU core running TT is stuck at 100%.Go get a cup of coffee, and in 5 or 10 minutes it will finish doing whatever it's doing it will print normally.
I have found that and once you do this, you're OK to print until the next time you start the TurboTax. I'm not sure what it hanging it up, but it does seem to be self-correcting.
I solved this the same way. Walk away after you press print, yell and scream along the way and after 5 minutes or so TT will become responsive and print. Great insight you had using activity monitor. I didn’t think of that. TT has had this problem for years and apparently doesn’t care to fix it.
