Turbo Tax is telling me we cannot claim our 16 year old as a dependent for 2016. He was born 3/28/00...that means he was 15 and 16 ALL of 2016...wtheck?

He lived with us the whole year, did not make his own money, etc. etc. Too frustrated for words...

Just go back to the Personal Info section of the program and edit the dependent section.  Verify the information was correctly entered for the dependent.  Check the date of birth is correct.  Verify that you entered that they were your child and lived in your home for the whole year.  Check that you selected the dependent did NOT provide over one-half of their own support.  Check to make sure that you did indicate that there was NOT someone else in the household who also provided support.  If all the information was correct then the program should indicate that they are your dependent and that you will receive the dependent's personal exemption of $4,050.

If there is still an issue with them being your dependent, then delete them in the dependent section and re-enter.
