I was also successful in filling my GA return by just retrying (no update was required).

I was able to successfully e-file my state of Georgia returns. Thanks so much to everyone that contributed to getting this matter resolved. The community support helped tremendously.

I got a somewhat similar message (below) today (2023-10-15), so it wasn’t fixed by the update of Friday 07/14/2023.  I had just checked for updates, so that part of the message was a bug; the “hiccup” part seemed more accurate.  (I ignored the canned advice here to reinstall; that’s rarely the solution to a server bug.)  Quitting the app, checking futilely for updates for the fourth time, and retrying did work.

FAILED_VALIDATION… Update available …

 A Federal return that matches could not be found. (2×) …

 Looks like we've had a technical hiccup…
