I am using the downloaded version of Turbotax Deluxe 2022. Each time I attempt to e-file my state return, I get a failed validation error. I have installed the latest updates and receive a message that my software is up to date. If I am unable to e-file my state return, I would like to get a refund for the e-file fee I paid a few days ago.
Thanks so much

Which State?
Someone else this weekend was having the same issue with GA.
I am also having a problem with TurboTax requiring an update before I can efile my Georgia return. I received the error message when trying to efile Federal and 2 states at the same time. So I tried breaking them down.
I was able to efile Federal individually, then I was able to file North Carolina individually, but the error is present when I try to efile Georgia.
The only help support could give me was to request a refund for my efile charge, and file the returns manually through the mail.
This honestly seems like it should be an easy fix, but they couldn't promise me anyone would look at it and fix it. I don't want to file manually. I am going to wait and see if it's fixed. If not, this is my last TurboTax year (and I've been using TurboTax since it was a DOS program)
Software updates usually come out on Wed or Thursday evenings, so try running software updates each Friday morning.
IF you are getting a refund from GA, then likely no problems trying again each Friday for a couple weeks.
The issue appeared to have cropped up for GA e-filing with the 29 June software update.

@DoninGA Any discussion of this in the Lounge?
@SteamTrain No, nothing posted in the Lounge concerning state e-file validation failures....Yet.
@SteamTrain thank you for both the information and the advice. It reassuring a) to know this is very recent; b) have the information about the release schedules, and c) just have your advice in general. So, I will calmly wait. Seriously, thank you very much
Here's another GA one from just after the 29 June software update.
This person jumped thru hoops trying to get GA it to go, and Customer Support was no help either:

And another yesterday:
Re: TT Premier 2022, Validation error when I attempt to file my Georgia return (intuit.com)
@SteamTrain FYI...Posted to the Lounge all the messages concerning validation errors for the state e-files.
thank you @SteamTrain for redirecting me here and @DoninGA for channeling feedbacks from people like me who are stuck at this point. This morning I spent over an hour with one TurboTax tech support, but in the end, I was also directed to do the paper filing. After I printed out a paper copy of my Georgia return, I decided to give myself a chance to call Georgia Dept of Rev to see if anyone there can shed light on the e-filing validation error as the TurboTax support suggested. Well, GA DoR does not even have an option over their phone line on eFiling, and their website offers nothing meaningful. That made me really upset. This means if I don't get this eFiling issue fixed, I either have to quit TurboTax for another software or go back to paper filing - a nightmare to me. So I am going to press this issue against TurboTax at least this year.
Add me to the list of those frustrated here... and awaiting a solution
I'm getting the dreaded "FAILED_VALIDATION" error message for GA state eFile only. My other states and federal returns all went through successfully. however. The issue appears to be just with GA state eFile for me. I just spent an hour and a half with TT Support this morning on this issue and we tried everything under the sun, but not successful. At the end, she just told me to print out and send in the return. I've been using TT for over 15 years and never had this issue before.
Same issue for me regarding Georgia e-file. I've been trying for the last couple of weeks and requested a refund of the fee today. We'll see which happens first - receiving the refund or the problem getting fixed.
I learned that TurboTax releases update every other Wednesday or Thursday so I gave it a try this morning by checking for update. I then got this error of 1603. TurboTax gave me some suggestions, one of which is to restart my PC and do a manual update. Event though I went down this manual update route a few times just last week, I tried again. Well, the same 1603 error. Worse yet, I can no longer launch my TurboTax because it now goes into this cyclical update that fails every time. Ugh!
Hello,
Any update from Turbo tax on this issue to resolve? I am getting the same error when file the return for Federal+ two states that include GA. I was successfully file the Federal and other state return. As the previous post said, this is for GA return only. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
