Turbo e-filing wouldn't go through when there's a small amount of state withholding tax reported? I changed the withholding to zero, then the e-filing went through?

The small amount of state withholding tax reported precluded the e-filing.  The auto message said that I could only file by mail.  I changed the withholding amount to zero to forgo the refund from the withholding tax and e-filing went through????

We need additional information to be able to assist you further.  What state did you file?  Please post here in the thread and someone will follow up with the next steps.

Check your Form 1099-R entry by going to your Income summary and click on edit next to the 1099-R to make sure you properly entered your state withholding.

Try deleting and reentering your Form 1099-R.

Also clear your cache and browser history and go back into the program, the add the 1099-R back in.

Here's where to enter your 1099-R in TurboTax:

  1. Open or continue your return
  2. In the Federal section, select Wages & Income
  3. Scroll to locate Retirement Plans and Social Security, and select Show more
  4. Select Start or Revisit next to IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)

You can also find the 1099-R section using the Search option in TurboTax. Open your return, enter 1099-r in the search bar, and select the Jump to 1099-r link.

Follow these steps to delete your 1099-R in TurboTax:

  1. Go to Form 1099-R
  2. Select the trash can next to your 1099-R and then answer Yes
