I already paid 3k before deadline and now just finishing taxes and owe more. But it is saying the full amount vs the credit I should have received already paying 3K prior

So I prepaid, I would think the IRS would only take the difference of what is owed..

Did you enter the payment you made into your tax return? Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid>Other Income Taxes

TT does not automatically pick up extension payments as stated above these must be entered bu you in the tax payment section
