Has anyone figured out a way to REMOVE the EIN that TurboTax forces on Schedule C (even though a sole-prop with no employees does not need an EIN, something Intuit seems to be totally ignorant of)?
Issue is this: whenever I go to "Business Profile" and answer "NO" under "Employer ID Number," it does not save and still displays an EIN (and next time I go back it defaults to yes again; clearly TT has been programmed not to take "no" for an answer to the EIN question on Sch C). So I try to remove it manually by going to edit "Forms", yet on Schedule C it does not allow one to edit the EIN field and remove it - it is hardcoded locked.
There is no way to remove it manually on forms. TT Has been programmed to not take "no" for the EIN answer on Sch C.
Has anyone found a workaround here, any way to remove the EIN and not include it in field D on Schedule C as filed?
The best I have been able to figure out is to put "(there is no EIN)" in the business name (field C) and to put SSN in the EIN field D, since Intuit does not allow one to answer "no" for the question and requires some number to be there (well you can answer "no" until you're blue in the face, but Intuit has programmed it to always revert back to yes and to force some number to be displayed there and on Sch C, despite you removing it countless times over and over; if you delete what's there, it'll just revert back to what was there before and the delete won't be honored). That way, hopefully it'll be clear to IRS that it's an Intuit software bug/poor design/lack of QA that is forcing the EIN to be put in the EIN field, but that there is no EIN.
However, I am wondering if anyone has found some way to forcibly remove the bogus EIN that Intuit forces on Schedule C? If so, care to share how you did it?

Yes I see that too on my Windows Home & Business program. This worked for me. Leave it YES and blank out the EIN number in the box. Do not type anything in there, no even your ssn. Then continue on.
