The TurboTax online editions are only for tax year 2024. To complete a 2023 tax return you will need to purchase and download one of the 2023 desktop editions to install on a personal computer, Windows or Mac.

You will need to download the 2023 tax data file to continue the 2023 return you started.
To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Start the 2024 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.
On the Tax Home webpage -
Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download .tax file
After the 2023 TurboTax desktop edition is installed click on the File menu at the top left of the desktop program screen. Click on Open Tax Return and browse to the location where you downloaded the tax data file.
A 2023 tax return can only be printed, signed, dated and mailed, it cannot be e-filed using TurboTax.
If you paid for one of the 2023 TurboTax online editions you will need to contact TurboTax support so that they can push a 2023 desktop installation file to your download account at no charge.
