If your 1099-B was part of a consolidated statement from Merrill Lynch, try importing just Form 1099-B.
A potential explanation for the Form 1099-B delay would be possible corrections Merrill Lynch intends to include before releasing the form for importing.

same issue. I don't get a separate 1099 B from merrill. It's incorporated into a Tax Statement that's available but not importing properly, even the 1099-Div is showing up with 0s while there was dividend income
Please see the Help Article here for further assistance: How do I fix my 1099-B negative values?
Same problem here a week later, on Feb 24, 2021. A message tells me to try again at 5:15PM on Friday! I will enter by hand from the 1099. I am finding Merrill Lynch Edge to be a very unreliable platform, for trading and evidently for this as well. We will part company.
The TurboTax error message that I received on 23 February 2021 when attempting to import data from Merrill Lynch is "Maintenance Notification From Your Import Provider", followed by the Merrill Lynch logo, and the following text: "The 1099 Import service for Fidelity Investments is currently unavailable. Please try your import again on February 24, 2021 at 5:15AM PT." I received this same error message today, on 24 February, asking me to try again on 25 February.
Note that (1) I am not trying to import from Fidelity Investments, I am trying to import data from Merrill and (2) I do not even get as far as a logon screen at Merrill and (3) if I try any other (random) drop-down selections other than Merrill, such as Fidelity Investments and USAA, I do succeed in getting to the logon screens for these financial entities.
My version of TurboTax Desktop components on Windows 10 is 2020.48.18.66 . I do have automatic updates enabled.
I can see reports of recent imports from Merrill for Tax Year 2020 that have resulted in zero data values. (Big Oops!) It appears that the TurboTax 2020 faucet may have been turned off temporarily on Merrill data imports until this problem is resolved. At this point in time, I'll just wait for a TurboTax update, and then try importing again. I am a long-time TurboTax user, so I have done many such data imports over the years, and I know how this import process normally works. Right now, this process is definitely broken for Merrill Lynch data imports.
I am NOT able to Import 2020 Tax Reporting statements from Merrill Lynch. I get a message:
"Maintenance Notification from your Import Provider
Merrill Lynch Logo
The 1099 Import Service for Fidelity Investments is currently Unavailable. Please try again on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 5:15 AM."
I talked to Merrill Lynch tech staff and they say that there is NO problem at their end. They ask me to contact Turbo Tax. I had NO problem in the past many years. This problem is only in this year. I bought my Turbo Tax Premium thru Amazon.
Clicking on the Merrill Lynch line on the list of brokerages takes me to Fidelity Investments. Turbo Tax has to fix this problem. Will they notify me? My email: [email address removed]
I downloaded all the forms from Merrill Lynch website anf entered 1099-DIV and 1099-INT myself but DO NOT know how to enter data for 1099-B
I'm having the similar issue e.g., a Turbo Ta (TT) message stating that I have no tax documents available in Merrill - when in fact tax documents are available in Merrill. Each day I receive a message saying Merrill is unavailable for importing until 05:15 PT the next day. I spoke to Merrill and they suggested that Turbo Tax may be only opening the gate to download Merrill information once a week. Bottom line is this year Turbo Tax worked fine with my TD Ameritrade Accounts but isn't importing Merrill information. Like other members I've been a long time TT user and have imported tax info from Merrill for the past six years with no issues.
Can anyone at TT Support comment on the "gate" to Merrill information only being opened once a week?
Same problem here....for past 3 days.
I'm beginning to think the problem is perhaps related to what I'm doing. I have many accounts at ML. I successfully downloaded everything that was AVAILABLE from ML last week, but one account was not ready then.
Did you perhaps have similar situation? Like perhaps you can only get one download from same financial institution? (ie, turbo tax can't handle multiple downloads with same source?)
Also have tons of trades....so perhaps turbo tax has a storage limit? Same as your situation??
I'm tempted to delete the older download and start over, but it that doesn't work, I'd have much more to enter by hand
There's been a *minor* change since yesterday... The error message today reads "The 1099 import service for Merrill Lynch is currently unavailable." So the erroneous "Fidelity Investments" phrase in the error message from the past 2 days has now been replaced with the correct phrase "Merrill Lynch." A baby step... but someone is apparently looking at this issue!
In response to recent questions from other Community members who are also experiencing this Merrill Lynch import problem:
I had first tried the import from Merrill two days ago, and I immediately got the "try again tomorrow" error message; I have never gotten as far as a logon screen for access to my Merrill account, so I have *not* been able to import *any* Merrill data for Tax Year 2020. My "History of Imported Documents" shows 0 items. So I do *not* believe that this problem is related to previous data imports.
From my perspective, the TurboTax "door" to Merrill Lynch account access is simply closed and locked right now, and has been for at least the past two days. I'll just keep trying each new day, until someone or something unlocks that "door." Perhaps the next software update to TurboTax software will make a difference... just a guess!
It's certainly very frustrating!! But personally, after 3 days of error messages when attempting an import from Merrill, I'm not yet ready to start entering tons of data manually into TurboTax.
My own tax reporting data on the Merrill website only became available on 19 February. I then downloaded and installed TurboTax Home & Business 2020 desktop software onto my Windows 10 computer on 22 February. Today is 25 February. So I am not very far into the 2020 tax process; I will simply wait until this import problem from Merrill is resolved.
"Your own mileage may vary....."
I gave up and entered it all by hand. Filed my taxes today. (I only had maybe two dozen entries.)
I'm just adding another voice to this discussion, to confirm that this is broken for me as well.
Here is the message I received today:
The 1099 import service for Merrill Lynch is currently unavailable. Please try your import again on February 26, 2021 at 5:15AM PT.
I've been getting this the past couple days, with errors of other phrasing prior to that. My guess is it will eventually be fixed, but I certainly won't be getting the early bird filing discount.
I may give this another few days, but I'm not overly thrilled at the idea of typing all my info in by hand (there is a fair amount). Maybe this is the year I will finally break down and go search for a good tax prep professional, and say goodbye to TurboTax.
I just tried a TurboTax import from Merrill Lynch at Noon Pacific time today Thursday 25 February 2021.
Progress!
I actually got to a logon screen for Merrill Lynch, for the very first time this week, with *no* "Maintenance Notification From Your Provider" error message from TurboTax, asking me to try again tomorrow.
At this point, I'll log in to Merrill and attempt an import.
Hi All, Per my earlier post...this afternoon I was able to import the Merrill tax information. Not sure what changed but the "gate" seems to have been opened, at least for me. My Merrill tax form was published on Feb 22 so maybe there's a time delay. I don't know but for me the magic finally worked today. Thankfully I'm not inputting by hand.
I am not able to import Merrill Lynch data.
