For tax year 2019, if you did not have Affordable Care Act insurance (Marketplace insurance reported on Form 1095-A), you do not need to report your insurance on your federal tax return. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act reduced the penalty for not having health insurance to zero, so there is no need to report it on your federal return unless you received the Premium Tax Credit as part of the Affordable Care Act (reported on 1095-A).
However, if you received a 1095-A, you will want to enter it in TurboTax. Here's how to enter it:
@GiseleD pretty sure we all got it now thanks... would've been fan freakin tastic had TT asked all the early filers if we had a 1095 to enter! Smdh. Love how TT is acting like this has been there the entire time
I went online to request a refund on TT site. I tried to call to request a refund but couldn’t get through. It took nearly two weeks to receive my money back but it has been refunded.
Has anyone received a date for their refund after submitting form 1095 and 8962? I am still uncertain if i have a "real "date on my transcript or i am just wishful thinking. i am a user from texas that filed/accepted 1/31/20 wmr bars disappeared 2/12/20 12 c letter received 2/24/2020 fax sent to IRS 2/25/2020
code 150 tax return filed cycle 20201005 date 3-23-20
code 806 shows date 4-15-20
code 766 shows date 4-15-20
code 971 shows date 3-23-20
code 570 shows date 3-23-20
@GiseleD Is anyone from Turbo Tax going to acknowledge that they have caused countless numbers of tax payers not only the delay, but in my case, it's telling me I have to pay an additional $145 for me to be able to print out the form to be mailed in, that was caused from their error???!!!
@kelliknightlender Contact TurboTax support. Explain what happened and see if they will either refund any account payment or give you a service code to use for the account upgrade.

You are no longer required to have healthcare insurance unless you are needing to reconcile the Premium Tax Credit. If you had Form 1095-A, you would need to enter those details.

UPDATE: This forum works as TT has now put back asking if you have a 1095A on their programs.
It didn't ask me then and TT refuses to refund my fees even after my bbb complaint.
Please see the above information KathrynG3 posted. If the IRS requests this information, please see the link below for instructions:
The IRS is requesting Form 8962 for 2019
Turbo Tax, you need to accept responsibility for your error and refund people's money who paid for this service. People use programs like TT so they can punch in their info and be guided to the right forms. You saying "oh under this circumstance you needed to click here and go there." Totally passing the buck on people who rely on YOU to be the experts. That's BS! People pay for and expect TT to make sure they file correctly.
THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT IN PAYING FOR THIS SERVICE!
If turbo tax has always asked about it in the past, And people who use turbo tax every year and Trust turbo Tax then it becomes a problem for those people who believe they can Trust turbo tax when it prompts them to go ahead and file because Turbo Tax Claims Everything looks good to file. Now for people like myself who tried to get his taxes done right away and trust TT. Now instead of getting my taxes right away, I’m not going to be one of the last to receive my Return. TT let myself and Millions of others down by changing this Big Topic. But they still ask most of the other Questions that don’t relate to most people.
Same happened to me. Turbotax didn't ask about my Obamacare. I got a letter today from the IRS requesting the 8692 be completed. You will use the info on 1052 for it.
Now I've got to wait no telling how many more weeks for my money!!! Grr. Stupid!
Yes and no you must do it yourself
Here is how to get the form 8962 filled out. Please note: You are NOT going to amend your return and you are NOT going to add a state return. These directions are quirky but will get the job done.
The IRS may adjust your refund once they receive your form 8962.
