NY requires me to e-file tax returns but your software will not let me without e-filing federal returns. My fed returns has been paper filed 2 months ago.

was able to e-file Federal and CT when done separately. Cannot e-file NY. Have uninstalled/reinstalled several times. NY REQUIRES e-filing, plus i already paid for this.  Fix this!

Same issue; federal and CT resident returns e-filed and accepted, NY state return won't e-file because my "tax return includes a tax situation that can't be e-filed" but no explanation available and nothing shows up going back through everything; it says its good to go, but doesn't go.  Please fix this ASAP.  NY requires e-file by law, plus the printed NY return includes attachments I ultimately did not need for one reason or another.  I did not have this problem last year, and I'm clearly not alone this year.

Also having this problem.  E-filed my federal return successfully and get an error message saying I cannot e-file my New York return.

TurboTax are you going to fix this issue or not?  If not, you need to tell us why non residents are having a problem efiling.

I just mailed mine in and paid for shipping and tracking and I plan to file a Better Business Bureau complaint against TurboTax for being negligent, misleading, and unable to provide explanation about why their own product does not function properly.  Will seek a full refund.

Same thing happening to me with nonresident New York form, very frustrating after years of no problems. I’m going to hold off on mailing in the hopes that TurboTax will issue a fix in the next week or two but I am not holding my breath.

Same error issue, filing jointly, partial year NY residents. Error message unable to e-file NY state, though message also says e-file is required for NY.  Federal efile was accepted.  Provided with print and mail option.

Same issue here, but for a joint NY resident return. Am getting the same message others have noted.  I’ve been using this program for years and never had an issue e-filing my NY return.  Turbo tax - please fix this.

Same issue and trying to efile as a full time NYS resident. Just spent more than 1 hour on the phone with no help or specific reason. This is a turbotax issue and they need to fix it.

Well apparently this chat / question feature is a farce, because I've waited weeks and yet still no response from Turbotax... at least respond with something like "we have an issue, sorry, please file by mail"... as lame as that would be it would be 100x better than doing and saying nothing.
