The system won't accept my verification code from my W-2. I have checked it many times and it is correct. Can I file without it being correct?

Per the IRS website:
"omitted and incorrect verification codes will not delay the processing of a tax return."

Control numbers and verification codes are additional information for W-2's and not necessary for filing. You may omit that information from your return. You need to report EIN, SSN, and all income information reported in the boxes of the W-2.
