How do I fix e-file reject IND-452?
See this discussion.
If you can’t clear the rejection you will have to mail your return.
How do I clear it when I did not make an error?
@kvhach - then it can't be cleared; you'll have to paper file..... someone filed using the same SSN or ITIN already. THe IRS will figure it out and resolve.
Note that when you paper file, include the W-2s and any other document that reflects a federal tax withholding.
Also, assume that because the IRS is so woefully backlogged, it'll take 6-9 months to process a paper filed return.
The IRS rejected my return do to code IND 452. I did not file taxes last year. I was divorced in March of last year… we my c husband have used the same Tin number and that’s what’s wrong

How do I fix e-file reject IND-452?
I efiled my taxes but need to send the returns by postal mail. I had selected direct deposit and withdrawal when filing my taxes. Do I need to send a paper check for the federal taxes due or would they withdraw electronically?

If you e-filed your 2022 federal tax return and it was accepted by the IRS, you do NOT mail a paper tax return to the IRS.
If you had taxes owed on the federal tax return and requested to pay those taxes by direct debit from your bank account, that information was sent with the e-filed tax return and the IRS will debit your account.
Thanks @DoninGA
IRS rejected my return with status code IND-452. The SSN entered was correct so I need to send them a physical copy of my return as per TurboTax. So my question is do I also need to write a paper check or will they withdraw electronically?
what forms do I need to prepare my return to mail to IRS
@Rppatil If you did not pay the taxes owed with a credit card then your payment by direct debit from your bank account was not sent to the IRS since the tax return was rejected.
When mailing the tax return you can include the payment voucher, Form 1040-V, with a check for the taxes owed or you can pay the taxes owed on the IRS payment website using Direct Pay - https://www.irs.gov/payments
Do I also need to write a paper check?Yes you do.
I have a similar issue, trying to figure out if I need to send a new payment to the IRS.
I paid via credit card when I eFiled and it's showing as an authorized, pending transaction on my credit card, but I haven't been able to get the IRS to accept my eFile due to a Dependent SSN being a victim of identity theft (and received an IND-452 denial error).
Thus, I have to now send paper copies and file an extension (with a request to waive penalty/interest).
Should I expect the IRS to process my payment from my credit card that I paid via Turbo Tax or should I plan to go to the irs.gov/payments and pay again there?
Thanks
