After 20 days, I went on check my refund and it said, "Your refund has been applied to a past due IRS obligation. "

@seanymac322 That happens when you owe back taxes or child support. They seize your refund. They will send you a letter about it soon.

does the 5% penalty apply to total return/tax if filed after april 15th? And is 8/15 the cutoff where they penalize you the max 25% even though that's 4 months?
