As I prepare my taxes, I sometimes want to enter personal notes -- things like "remember to find actual amount of receipt" for a specific itemized deduction I am claiming. In other words, I want to enter some things now as a placeholder, then come back to that item later when I've found more accurate information. Is there any way to enter notes, or at least flag an item that I want to come back to later? This is NOT for the purpose of transmitting anything to the IRS -- only for personal use.

The Desktop version of TTax definitely provides this function (I use it extensively).
I do believe the On-Line version offers this. You can 'test' it by hitting just the 'Enter' key in the data entry space. If it is available a separate pop-up window should appear.
Of course if it works and you use it be sure to PRINT a copy of your return (selecting the option to print ALL SUPPORTING information; and also be sure to save (and download) a .pdf copy of your return also with the option to print ALL SUPPORTING information.
