You received an email that we cannot see that tells you why your tax return was rejected.  

Some rejected returns can be fixed and re-filed.  Some have “un-fixable” reasons for the rejection and have to be mailed instead. What is the rejection code or rejection message? 

 If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2019 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2019 AGI might not be in the IRS system.   Try using zero instead.

 

If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year.  The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

 

Or—-if you filed as a “non-filer” just to get the stimulus check on a 2019 return, try using $1 as the AGI.

I completely agree. Never again TurboTax! I've had enough with companies who hide from their paying customers and never answer the stupid contact number they provide. After a maze of questions from a computer voice (they can't even pay a human to do the voice?!!), the line simply hangs up on you! Impossible it seems to talk to someone unless you pay for the upgrade live-assistance. The thing is, my question isn't about a tax advice, it's about actual PROBLEMS with the TECHNOLOGY of the software.

 

Tip for my fellow Canadians: next time, pay a REAL human to do your taxes, an accountant or a qualified friend. That expense is deductible on your return!

That is certainly what I am going to do right now!!!

im trying to retrive my agi and pin from my 2019 return. huw can i get the information. i already did the 1st step but tubo didnt pass me through. i have the bill from the irs that i paided for $26.49. last year return was $468.00  this should be proof

You need your 2019 AGI to efile 2020. The AGI is on 2019 1040 line 8b. If you filed a Joint return you use the same AGI for each spouse.

If you didn't file 2019 or filed it later in the year then try entering 0 for the AGI. If that doesn't work you will have to print and mail your return.

Your 2019 tax return shows your 2019 Adjusted Gross Income  (AGI)  If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.

 

Form 1040        line 8b

If you are using the same TT account that you used last year, you should also be able to find this number in your Tax Home for 2019

If entering the amount from your 2019 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead.  If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

My question is: "Where is my 3rd Stimulus check??????"  It got deposited in a wrong bank account using a bank that Turbo Tax uses to take fees out of for doing my taxes!!!!!  I want my stimulus money and TurboTax has been holding it up for months!!!  I can't get a human at TurboTax on the phone and I'm so frustrated that I will never use TurboTax again I will also make sure my friend and family stop using it also!!! find my stimulus money TurboTax!!!  AND ANSWER YOUR PHONES.....TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ERRORS!!!

Per the IRS, banking information for the third stimulus payment is received in a number of ways:

  • Your bank account information is obtained from the most recently filed tax return or information entered in Get My Payment. You cannot change your account information.
  • If you haven't filed a 2020 or 2019 tax return and you received SSA, RRB, SSI, or VA benefits, you will receive the third payment as a direct deposit, on your Direct Express Card, or by mail, just as you would normally receive your benefits.

If the account was closed or no longer active, the bank is required to return the deposit. Your payment will be issued as a check to the address we have on file for you. This is generally the address on your most recent tax return or as updated through the United States Postal Service (USPS).

 

TurboTax does not have your stimulus payment. If you still require assistance, you can contact us at (800) 446-8848. We're open daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM PT.
