How can I upload 2 1099b PDF files on the TurboTax website. There is space for only one, it would appear.
After you go through all the questions and reviewing the first upload the program will take you back to a screen Here's the investment sales we have so far, click on the button to Add More Sales continue through the screen to upload the second 1099-B information.
Hi, I am using Premium edition with PC version. I couldn't find any option of uploading 1099 tax docs from computer. Please help me on the steps.
You may review the requested steps here @sathishinfotech.
i am having the same issue, how do I upload the pdf? I have turbo tax premium and i don't see any option to upload the pdf. I don't want to mail in the 1099B because its more than 2000 pages. The instructions in the post above show how to import but they dont show how to upload the pdf.
If you're using TurboTax Online, choose the 'Summary' method in the 1099-B section. Enter your Sales Section Summary info and continue.
You will be asked how you want to send your info to the IRS (screenshot).
Continue to a screen where you can upload your PDF (screenshot).
i'm using the turbo tax premier downloaded on my mac, i don't see that option to drag and drop the pdf...
On a mac, to find the option to upload a pdf of your 1099-B, follow these steps
You may have already seen the page "Let's import your tax info." At the bottom of that page is the "I'll type it myself" button. Click on I'll type it myself and enter your information.
You will also see a page where you can enter a sales total. On that page you will select whether your stock transactions were short-term, long-term, covered, or noncovered. You will also enter total proceeds and total cost basis. On the next page Now we'll help you upload your 1099-B since the IRS requires a copy, is where you will begin the process to upload your 1099-B. The option to upload is a drag and drop option and you can click on Browse to search your desktop for your pdf file of your 1099-B.
that drag and drop option is not available on mac download, it says "to finish reporting these sales, please follow the mailing instructions"
Yes, you are correct. TurboTax download does not have the drag and drop upload option for a 1099-B in a pdf file format. Did you try to import? If you did and the 1099-B failed to import because the document size was too large (you mentioned in a previous post it was more than 2,000 pages), you may have the same problem trying to drag and drop the pdf file.
correct, i cannot import because file is too large hence why im wondering how to electronically send the 1099b to the irs, can't get hold of anyone at the irs....
You might try reducing the file size of your 1099-B. For example, Adobe Acrobat can condense a pdf file to a smaller file size from the original. There may be other applications that can reduce file size as well.
Below is a link to a recent TurboTax article that discusses trade limits and file size limits. The import file size is limited to 4 MB.
What if I can't import my 1099-B?
