On a mac, to find the option to upload a pdf of your 1099-B, follow these steps
- go to the Income & Expense section,
- then scroll down the page to Investment Income, and
- click on the drop-down arrow to reveal all the options.
- Select Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds...
You may have already seen the page "Let's import your tax info." At the bottom of that page is the "I'll type it myself" button. Click on I'll type it myself and enter your information.
You will also see a page where you can enter a sales total. On that page you will select whether your stock transactions were short-term, long-term, covered, or noncovered. You will also enter total proceeds and total cost basis. On the next page Now we'll help you upload your 1099-B since the IRS requires a copy, is where you will begin the process to upload your 1099-B. The option to upload is a drag and drop option and you can click on Browse to search your desktop for your pdf file of your 1099-B.
