If you forgot to include Form 1095-A, in your income tax return, you'll probably get a letter from the IRS requesting it.
Form 8962 Premium Tax Credit is required when someone on your tax return had health insurance in 2019 through Healthcare.gov (or a state marketplace) and took the Advance Premium Tax Credit to lower their monthly premium.
We'll help you create (or correct) the form in TurboTax.
First, make sure you have a clean copy of your original tax return for your records.
Next, find your Form 1095-A. This won’t be in TurboTax. You should have received a paper form in the mail from your marketplace. If you didn't receive a Form 1095-A, sign in to your Healthcare.gov account to download a copy. Once you've got it, follow the instructions below for your version of TurboTax.
When you're done in TurboTax, you'll need to print out form 8962 and mail or fax it to the IRS, along with any other items requested in their letter (IRS Letter 0012c).
If there's a change to your refund amount or the amount you owe, you'll need to print and send page 2 of your 1040.

IRS form 8962 Premium Tax Credit
Hello,
So I forgot to include Form 1095-A after filing as well. I went on Turbo Tax to add it and it printed out everything including a 1040-X and told me to mail it which I did. It also said I owed a little which I paid online through IRS site. Couple weeks later I received a letter from the IRS to mail missing documents and not to mail an amended return. What should I do? I still haven't received my refund either and nothing on IRS status site. When should I expect anything?
When you enter the 1095-A TurboTax will automatically generate form 8962.
If the IRS letter that you received is asking for form 8962, print the form and attach a copy of your 1095-A form and send it to the address on the letter.
Form 8962 printed with the 1040-X which I mailed. Should I mail the missing form again?
No, that's really all that is needed. The 1095-A is not needed to be mailed with the 1040-X. Usually, the IRS doesn't ask you to amend if the form 8962 is the only issue. However, if you are amending your return, the 1095-A is not to be sent with the amended return.
Thanks. Since Form 8962 was included in the 1040-X, I'll just wait and not send another copy. I guess the reason 1040-X showed up is because the refund amount changed when I went back and entered info from 1095-A into TurboTax. I shouldn't expect any refund for months then since IRS takes longer on 1040-X.
Yes, all that was needed was Form 8962 and page 2 of your Form 1040, but that is typically done once a notice has been received. The correspondence then is directly as requested via the notice, avoiding an amendment, but not necessarily accelerating any refund.
An amendment takes 16 weeks to process, typically.
I am trying to find my correct AGI for 2018 so i can file for 2019. I submitted my 2018 return without the 1095-a. I got a letter stating to file the 1095-a. I amended my original return with my 1095-a and 8962. How would this effect my AGI for 2018? IRS rejected my 2019 return because i have wrong AGI.

If your AGI changed when you amended your 2018 tax return you will need to use your AGI from your unamended 2018 tax return when you complete your 2019 return.

To report form 1095-A:
I filed my taxes with a family member who is a book keeper. I didn't file my 1095A form with it. And the family member who filed them doesn't have the time of day to file it. Is there any way to get it to the irs without mailing it?
