Hi, I’m looking to find out why I’m getting this message “Your transmission didn't go through
We could not e-file your return for the following reason:
Tax Year 2024 transmissions are not available”
This baffles me as all my documents are available. I have recived and entered all necessary documents. I’ve used this account for 5+ years with no issues.
Would this be related to the irs not accepting e-files till January 27th?
Any ideas or input is appreciated!!

@MattBMPLS The issue is Not that the state of Minnesota is not accepting e-filed tax return, the issue is that TurboTax has not yet finalized the Minnesota state income tax forms. As previously posted the estimated date the Minnesota forms will be available for filing is 01/30/2025.
Go to this TurboTax website for federal and state forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...
It might be that not all the forms in your return have been finalized yet. If you have Draft forms in your return, it would not allow you to finish your return.
Use this link to reference when your tax forms will be available. You can search by TurboTax Product and for IRS and State-Specific Forms.
It's likely your state taxes that aren't ready to file - for example, MN M1PR won't be ready until the 30th. That's the property/renters tax one. You can delete your state return and just file your federal for now, or wait.
Neither of the above answers are correct. If the forms aren't ready, TurboTax online won't let you attempt to transmit - it will stop you before you get there and tell you it can't be transmitted, and it will provide a list of the forms that are not finalized and the dates they should be ready. It will also watermark the forms as not final when you preview the return.
I filed my federal return without issue on the 22nd and it was accepted by the IRS on the 23rd, but I'm getting the same error on my MN state return and have for several days now, and all my forms are available and finalized. It originally stopped me and said a bunch of MN forms weren't final and would be ready on the 23rd (no M1PR, I don't qualify), and the state forms were watermarked in the preview of the return. On the 22nd, this was no longer the case - I was not getting any notification the forms weren't final and they were no longer watermarked, and it let me go through all the way to transmit, so presumably they finalized the forms a day earlier than planned. Only then did I start getting the 'Tax Year 2024 transmissions are not available' error and I've been getting it ever since. And yes, Chrome, Safari, clear cache/cookies/etc. makes no difference.
Basically, if the forms aren't finalized, TurboTax will never even let you attempt to transmit and see the error the OP and I are seeing. My suspicion is that this is actually an issue with MN not 'turning on' the filing ability until Monday the 27th. But yet the IRS also isn't 'accepting' returns until the 27th and yet I was able to transmit it on the 22nd and have it accepted on the 23rd.
Looks like TurboTax online is now just not consistently supplying the proper warnings/flags.
Looking at all the MN forms on the link above, now it says none of them will be ready until the 30th. So why isn't TurboTax telling me that before I attempt to transmit like it did before? So TurboTax online went from stopping a transmittal attempt earlier in the week with a clear warning that forms wouldn't be available until the 23rd and watermarking the forms to now providing no warning that forms aren't available until the 30th, not watermarking forms, and allowing transmittal attempts anyway.
TurboTax needs to be consistent. Third year with this product after 20 years of doing them by hand with paper and pen and I find myself less impressed with the software each year.
Hey, I’m in MN too and having the same issue. I could only file my federal on the 17th and it listed a bunch of MN documents that said will be ready on the 23rd. So I tried to submit my state return today but now I’m getting the message. It must be a MN thing.
Keep checking the link. It is updated often.

Same!!!!!! Turbo Tax whats the deal?? we are getting frustrated here. Its making us think we are entering our information incorrectly ! this is a "you" problem not a "us" problem.
This is from the Minnesota Department of Revenue website
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Revenue will open the state Individual Income Tax filing season on Monday, January 27, 2025. This date matches the opening day for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The filing deadline to submit 2024 Minnesota and federal income tax returns is Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Tax software providers and tax professionals may be accepting and preparing tax returns before January 27 and will submit those returns when the IRS and state systems open.
I’m getting the same message
I'm in MN same error message

The same issue. TurboTax happily takes our money but then... crickets
I'm in MN and keep getting the same error message as well. I've called Turbo tax and have talked to multiple people and each person keeps saying to wait until the 27th when the IRS is accepting taxes. However, I have done my taxes early every year and it has gone through with no problem. I think this is a glitch with Turbo tax for some reason.
@hope4913 The Minnesota state income tax forms are scheduled to be available for filing on 01/30/2025.
