Stimulus check and filing jointly

We got married last year, and my spouse just got his third stimulus check, which (I assume) was based on his 2019 taxes filed. We haven't filed yet (I just got my last tax form), but our combined income for 2020 is higher than the limit that would entitle him to a check. If we file jointly, will the government ask him for the stimulus check back?
