Hello,
Based on the two screen shots below, where do I find the info?
1) on this screenshot I click Edit
2) In this screenshot, how do I calculate the total of all your payments and withholding?

Your refund is line 87 (Overpaid tax) on your 2021 Form 540. If you filed Form 540 NR, it’s line 101.
The Total of all your payments and withholding is line 78. If you filed Form 540 NR, it’s line 88.
TurboTax carries this info from your 2021 California return.

Hello ErnieS0
And thank you for responding. I am trying to understand the answer and make sense of it. Just to clarify you mentioned line 87, but there is no 87. Did you mean 78?
1) IT looks like line 78 does match total refunde received in 2022
2) Line 71, has california income tax withheld, which matches turbo tax "total of all your payments and withholding.
Can you please confirm?
He meant Line 97. Line 97 is Overpaid Tax which is your refund amount.
Line 71 is total withholdings and it is included on LIne 78 which is ALL of your payments.
Ok thanks for the clarification. So it looks like the initial response was incorrect?
Thank you!
Yes, as noted by DawnC, there was a typo in the initial response. Line 97 is correct for the overpaid tax.
