SSI is Supplemental Security Income and is not from the Social Security Administration. It is designed to help aged, blind, and disabled people, who have little or no income; and. It provides cash to meet basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter. SSI is not reported on a tax return.
Social Security Retirement/Disability/Survivors benefits are reported on a form SSA-1099 and the benefits received are reported on a federal tax return.
If the SSI or the Social Security benefits are the only income being received in 2016 there is no benefit or need to file a tax return.
To enter Social Security benefits reported on form SSA-1099
Or enter social security benefits in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to social security benefits

Social Security Retirement/Disability/Survivors benefits are reported on a form SSA-1099 and the benefits received are reported on a federal tax return. The benefits may be taxable depending on the amount of other income you have entered on your tax return.
However, if the Social Security benefits are the Only income to be reported on the tax return, then there is no reason or need to file a tax return.
If you're asking whether you need to report SSI on your federal tax return, the answer is no.
Please see DoninGa's excellent answer above, and the TurboTax Help article “Do I need to report my Supplemental Security Income (SSI)?” for more detail.
I buy clothes and personal cigarette and douche and etc.
How can I do tax being in ssi
Can I do my tax being in ssi
@Shinetia92 If your only income is SSI or Social Security then you have nothing to enter on a tax return unless you had tax withheld or have a 1095A for Marketplace insurance. There is a difference between those two forms of income--which do you receive?
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS AND SSI?

Supplemental Security Income, or SSI, is never taxable. You may have to, or want to, file taxes but your SSI payments do not appear on your return.
I pay rent, taxes on groceries medical adult diapers, medicences, cabs,
@Debbiegetmyfunds Sorry---not sure what your tax question is about all of that. Did you receive taxable income with tax withheld? Do you need to file a tax return?
