Trying to close down scammers is like a game of Wack-A-Mole ... you hit one and 2 more pop up. Just use the old rule "if it seems too good to be true then walk away".
Think for a second ... why would a large company like Intuit possibly use Groupon or any other discount site to sell their program at all when they have an official site of their own.

I thought i was buying turbotax from Amazon and ttried ti cancel the purchase unsuccessfuly when I realized it was bnot the real thing. I tried ti use what was sent but it was a disorganized mess. I have used TT for ten years and it is easy to use . What I received was not useable. There does not seem to be any way to talk to someone from TT about this.
I sent several emails requesting that my account to be closed out, canceled, stopped, discounted etc....but I keep getting charged each month. I called telephone number on the website and always get a recording to leave a message and never get a call back. This is certainly a scam company,
Have anyone had any luck closing their account. Thank you

You are commenting on a very old discussion and I don't know what your facts are, who is charging you, or why. Intuit does offer a monthly subscription for Quickbooks (business software) and some of those subscriptions include Turbotax as well, but the Turbotax Advantage program is a yearly charge for the tax software, not monthly. If you believe you are being billed by Turbotax, you have to call the customer service number to speak to a representative. If you are being charged by someone else, you have to contact them. There are also ways to block unauthorized charges through your bank or credit card.
I purchased TurboTax through Software Discount for $117.49. I logged in to TurboTax thinking that I was at an Intuit Site, which I was. At the completion of my tax return, I was billed for ~$119 by Intuit. I'm kind of ticked that Software Discount presents themselves as Intuit. the confusion results in being charged twice. Is Software Discount a legitimate seller of TurboTax? If so, how do I get a refund. They don't seem to be able to respond.
Thank you,

@fvscopa I don't know about them. Never heard of them. But if you bought the 16 digit License Code you should have downloaded and installed the program. It sounds like you got into the Online version.
