Social aecurity inclusion in net investment income tax

The question about social security payments included in the net investment income tax was never answered. I only go over the 250000 income threshold if my taxable social security is included in the calculation. It seems that turbotax is including the taxable portion of my social security in the calculation. Is that correct??

I can't find anywhere the inclusion of the taxable portion of social security is included in the calculations

of the net investment income tax.  Every reference is just of "social security" payments are excluded.

Thanks

The AGI is used from Form 1040 Line 11 which will include any taxable Social Security benefits.  Assuming you do not have any Foreign Earned Income Exclusion or Adjustments for certain CFCs and certain PFICs

Go to IRS Form 8960 Net Investment Income Tax Instructions for Line 13 MAGI Worksheet on page 20 - https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i8960.pdf#page=20
