So me and my ex are taking turns claiming the child so how do i take my child off my tax so she can claim him this year

If you have already filed your income tax return, you will have to wait to see if your return is accepted or rejected.  

If your return is accepted, you will have to file an amended return to remove the child.  Your ex will have to file her income tax return by mail.  

If your return is rejected or you have not filed, follow these steps:

1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax, if you aren't already in it.
2. Select My Info in the left navigation.
3. Select the Add a dependent button if you need to add someone. Select the trash can icon next to the name of a dependent to remove them (we'll ask you to confirm removing them before we take them off your return).
