Specifically, if they have implemented a feature (importing data from a financial institution is what I'm trying to do) and they tell me it worked, but it does not, does that mean:
1. They really think it worked, so since it did not work, there is a bug and I will need to work around it, or ...
2. They know it did not work, they just say stuff like that even when not true. Truth is that I need to wait for them to fix it, so truth will catch up with what they are saying right now.
Seriously. I'd like to know whether I should wait or not.

For me, there was a strangely-worded pop-up that you have to accept, before the data actually transfers.
The first time I tried , I rejected the pop-up, so nothing transferred into my file.
Thanks for the idea, but that did not fix it. I did have popups blocked, so I undid that, and the problem persists.
More info about my situation from another thread on here about importing:
TurboTax 2025 Deluxe, Windows 11, Edge, all fully updated
In Edge, 3rd party cookies enabled, popups not blocked.
I've been using TurboTax for about 40 years. This year's taxes are about the same as last year's. Never had problems importing before.
Trying to import 1099-DIV from Vanguard (Brokerage)
Vanguard does a Consolidated 1099 form, so this usually gets all 1099s, not just DIV.
That opens a tab in my default browser, with 3rd party cookies accepted, no ad blocking, no virus software.
I entered the Vanguard account number and document ID from the Vanguard PDF I downloaded from Vanguard.
It confirms I am human and then the web page says,
"Connection complete!
I have no Popup blocker.
Yes, it told me the import was successful the first time, before the pop-up appeared....I rejected what the po-up indicated...and checking my forms, nothing was imported.

I am left wondering if Vanguard really has their specially-formatted files ready.
Their paper/PDF files are usually available before the Tax software import files are prepared....at least, that's what my brother tells me.
I'm having the same problem. I have a fairly complicated 1099-Consolidated so I'd really prefer to import. If anyone has any answers please respond.
I was able to import by changing my default browser to Edge (I had previously had it set to Chrome.)
I was also discussing this in a different thread, and found THE answer a few minutes ago.
The thread is
I can see how changing the default browser might make it work as well, since the default settings, popup, asking, etc. might allow success.
The browser, from the intuit.com site needs to be set to have network access, I guess that means the browser is allowed to communicate with the TurboTax application running on the PC, allowing data to get into TurboTax. I really wish I did not need to learn that, but ...
It depends; some brokerage info may not import. I'm not sure where the TurboTax accuracy guarantee fits in. However, in my opinion, it is best to review what was reported on official forms vs what was imported.
one example of what doesn't import is income and expenses from WIDELY HELD FIXED INVESTMENT TRUSTS
Believe it or not, OID on bonds is generally incorrect. The IRS dictates it must be calculated based on the actual original issue discount. Buyers in the secondary market may have a different amount. The brokers DO NOT adjust. The taxpayer must make their own calculation of the adjustment. The tax software doesn't matter because the info comes from the broker
