Yes. It doesn't say it was lost only late. The IRS goes by postmark date, not received date. Additionally, you should be prepared for anything mailed to the IRS to have a significant processing delay.

Hi @CatinaT1,
Now another month passed but there are no more updates on the mail, still in transit, being late. With the deadline approaching, shall I mail another copy of the tax return?
Another question is: I don't have the original W2 copy for the IRS, but I have taken a copy, can I print the photo and use that instead?
Thank you!!!
Hi did your package ever get delivered? Believe it or not, I am running exactly the same issue this year :(
Hi there, it has been a year now and I can't remember exactly what happened. But I remember I looked up the USPS website, filled a complaint, they got back to me saying it's still under processing. However, while waiting for a USPS reply, I mailed my return with a cover letter explaining the situation. A few weeks later, I got my tax return. But still not sure whether it was the first or the second mail that worked.
Hope it helps.
Thank you so much for your time replaying and very glad your return got processed.
Understood the situation, I will probably hang a little bit and then file a complaint to see what is going on.
@SquareWindow Did you get your refund. I am in the same boat. Mine still shows in transit arriving late and I am yet to receive the refund.
@allendan - figure paper returns will take 6-9 months to process......
Patpat~~~
My mail was back then finally delivered after being stuck like that for about two weeks. With respect to the refund status, mine just shows received and takes 16 weeks to be processed.
