THX Bruce, tried all that with 2 different Schwab accounts, still the same message, "Login is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later or call customer support."
I followed two suggestions , thanks to bot threads ( one about default browser with 2FA off, and the other about changing schwab password.):
Download Microsoft Edge to mac, and changed edge to default browser ( in case Safari is the default )
From Schwab, set 2FA ( two factor authentication ) to allow trusted devices, and change password on Schwab.
logon to schwab from Edge.
Shutdown my Mac, restart. Finally I can import from schwab.
Yet another TurboTax user here that cannot download tax forms from Schwab.
"Login is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later or call customer support."
At Schwab, I tried toggling 3rd party access off, save, then back on, save. No change. I didn't see a way to fully turn off 2FA but according the Schwab site, that shouldn't matter for 3rd party access anyway.
C'mon Intuit. We're all waiting for a genuine solution.
I had the same problem. Chatted with Schwab and they said they were working on it. I saw different people were getting in but not consistent. I tried again last night around 11:00 pm and got in and downloaded. I believe the problem is with Schwab servers being over worked. Try at off hours, early morning, late night. It worked for me. (windows ops)
Same problem. Don't know if problem lies with Schwab or TurboTax. I can login to Schwab in the usual way but not through TurboTax
Thanks for this "fed up with TurboTax" posting. This is what I suspected. I too will stop using TurboTax. If the TurboTax program had simply told me that Schwab import is a no-no it would save me from going through all the hassle of trying over and over.
Happening to me too. Changed Schwab password, restarted TurboTax, still not working. Super frustrating.
I just tried these steps. This did not work and I still get Login temporarily unavailable....
Intuit really screwed this up in a major way. I'm on Mac OS Monterey and when you are prompted to for the Schwab credentials, after getting this error, there is NO WAY of getting out of that window. I had to "Force Quit" TurboTax.
This issue should have been solved BEFORE the begging of the tax season! I think there are thousands of people having this bad experience.
Also, none of the FAQs and articles posted by Intuit Support have worked. I have been a TurboTax user for over 20 years -- this might be my last.
Many have stock transactions that are too numerous to manually enter, it is not just about interest and capital gains numbers.
“Login is temporarily unavailable.”
Not letting me login to Schwab site either. Fix this asap TurboTax, I paid for your service to be able to file.
I tried again today and the third try succeeded. It had me log into to Intuit/Turbotax first, then enter Schwab credentials. One more item is that i had disabled and re-enabled 3rd party access from within Schwab - though that may have nothing to do with it.
After multiple attempts (25?) at different times of the day I finally got through and imported at about 7 EST. I didn't change any settings and use Mac OS Monterey. Schwab chat noted they have reports of issues.
The most annoying thing is having to log in to a Turbotax Account repeatedly after a short pause. What is that all about? It does not retain login information for more then a short time.
After about 5 days of trying to download the Schwab tax forms, I was able to do it successfully this morning (2/22/22). I didn't do anything except try it again today, so assume something was fixed, or the server loads were low enough to all my connection. I'm using the Premier desktop version on a MAC.
I was successful in import when I tried it at 12:30 AM today. Must be a Schwab bottleneck at certain times of the day. Maybe I should not be blaming TurboTax.
I also have a large number of transactions to upload and the problem appears to be with TurboTax and not with Schwab. Entering the summary info is a good suggestion. I was able to upload my transactions last year but I had a larger number this year.
