My 2021 E File Return was rejected, but the IRS took my credit card payment. So now when I try to file my return again, they want me to pay them again. How do I avoid paying them again? I know if I pay them again my money will never be returned.

Wait and see if it drops of your credit card. It may just be pending for a couple days.
"Took" your credit card payment how? If you entered CC information on your tax return for direct debit, but the return was rejected, the IRS did not get that information. The IRS only gets your information if the return is accepted.
My credit card was charged (over two thousand dollars) and then I got an email that my return had been rejected. Verified the charge on my bank's web site.
Wait and see if it drops of your credit card. It may just be pending for a couple days.
Good advice. Thanks
