Refund of Electronic Filing Fee

Today, I attempted to file my 2023 taxes electronically. It allowed me to charge the fee to my credit card, $25.00; however, it told me I had to file by mail.

How do I get a refund of my $25.00?

Refund of Electronic Filing Fee

2023?    E-filing is permanently closed for 2023---it closed at the end of October.   Did you actually pay $25----if the software accepted the payment then contact support.  The only way you can file a 2023 return now is by mail.  You have to print it, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue.  If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help.  Do not use the word “refund.”
