Received w2 and 1099-misc and each of the forms has the same amount, which one do i file?

the amounts are the same so im confused on my i am reporting that income twice. the w2 has taken taxes out and the 1099 adds the same "income" to my total income for the year, which is not correct..

If both forms are reporting income for the same work, enter just the W-2 (since it reports the withholding).

If the 1099 was reporting something else, like commissions or bonus, only then would you enter that form as well.
