With e-file, the amount debited from my bank account was not equal to the amount showed as owed for both federal and state. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

Most states do not allow direct debit of state taxes owed using tax preparation software.  Or if your state does allow direct debit then the state debits your account separately from the IRS for federal taxes owed. 

Look at the Filing Instructions for your tax returns  to see how you choose to pay the taxes owed.

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state. 

This will take you back to the 2018 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.
