Will not let me log in, keeps taking me back to login screen

I've been trying to log in to get my taxes done, I know my user ID and Password but every time I login it takes me right back to the login screen again. It isn't letting me do anything, I've even tried creating another account and the "forgot password" but still not doing anything. I've been using TurboTax for years and would hate to have to change to a different tax software but I need to get my taxes done and that's what this weekend was supposed to be used for but I can't log in.

What browser are you using?    Close the browser and delete any Intuit-related cookies and clear the browser Internet cache.    Open the browser and open a private window (private browsing/incognito mode).   Then go to Online TurboTax to log in.  Does the problem recur?

Do you have a different browser to try?

If you continue to have problems with multiple browsers, try the following tool.  Be sure you follow the Note instructions below to avoid getting into a log-in loop.

You can have up to 5 accounts that use the same email address for notification purposes.  A User ID may be an email address, but it doesn't have to be.  It might be only part of an email address, or it can be anything at all.

To get a list of your User IDs, reset password, and recover account access, you can use the tool at the link below.  When using the Account Recovery tool, try using your phone number first.   After that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can access.

NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop.  Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below.  You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session.

If still no luck after running that on your phone number and email address(es) that you can access,  here's another method:

Go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, and choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by SSN and other parameters.

I'm using Internet Explorer which is the same that I used when doing someone else's taxes for them in March, I just went through what the other guy told me and even reset my password by using my SS number even though I knew my password but it keeps taking me back to the login screen again. It acts like it is going to log me in but then redirects right back to enter my password again over and over, thought maybe there was a glitch or something in their system right now?

I don't believe it's a systemwide problem, since I've had no problems logging into my return multiple times today, and there are not (from what I can see) other users asking the same thing, and the forum would be overrun if it was present to any extent.

 Did you change anything in your system recently; e.g., a Windows update?   Are you using Windows 10 or earlier?

Have you tried deleting any Intuit-related cookies and deleted your browser cache to see if that makes a difference?

Are you using a wireless connection?   If so, have you tried using a wired connection if available?

If you have another browser, it's a quick thing to try, but it might not help.   If you don't have one easily handy, or if you already tried, try the following;

Try resetting everything in your Internet chain.  i.e., shut down your computer, then router, and then modem.  Wait a couple of minutes, then restart the modem.  Wait a minute or so, then restart the router.  Wait a minute or so and reboot (restart) your computer.
