Were you able to import TT to HR Block or did you have to do it manually?
@user17701379795 Let's not sully this forum with unfounded political arguments. It is totally irrelevant. You have Facebook, X, TikTok, and (I suspect) family mealtimes for that.
You’re right. I take back what I said.
I think the only thing TurboTax could have handled better here (and on their site) is being more transparent. For example, they could clearly state that the form isn’t ready because the IRS hasn’t finalized the instructions yet, and include a direct link so users can verify the status themselves — such as: www.irs.gov/draft-tax-forms
That level of clarity would go a long way in reducing confusion and frustration.
@user17701379795 hard to pay taxes when he donates his check. This is a tax forum where we seek updates, social media is elsewhere if you'd like to complain. All we want to do is file and go about our day.
Please provide update. It still says "Depreciation and Amortization will be ready by February, but likely sooner".
Then why are you bothering to respond? lol
Is there a new date for when this form will be available?
No new firm date. Someone said TurboTax updates on Thursday. So it should be either tomorrow or Friday, or a week from tomorrow or Friday.
Next year I WILL be using a different company, and I have been using TurboTax for about twenty years straight. They couldn't care less...even sending texts saying "All your forms are available...file today!". smh
try now, section is open in the desktop build available this morning (not sure about online)
@baldietax thank you for the update and was hopeful -- but TT online still shows the same messaging: "Depreciation and Amortization will be ready by February, but likely sooner"
I want to tell everyone I waited on hold yesterday for 30 minutes, talked to a TT troubleshooting rep.. Since I'm using the online version they said if I clear my taxes and start over it would trigger the update. Welp same **bleep** screen "Depreciation and Amortization will be ready by February, but likely sooner". Thanks again Turbo Tax.
yes I would be hopeful that if this has been released on desktop that online will not be far behind, maybe that will be the release Intuit referred to as planned for tonight (but I did also see a couple of posts yesterday starting to refer to the weekend).
with prior section releases like 1099R not showing up with online it was also advised to clear cache/cookies and log back into online, but those steps were usually for a handful of users having issues after it was clear online had been updated.
@rewoys22 yeah starting taxes over again sounds like BS. some folks having issues in the past had to clear cache/cookies and log back in, but it's not clear this been released for online yet. just wait, at this point if desktop has been released, online should not be far behind.
The work on this section of TurboTax is continuing and expected to be completed with an update coming after Thursday night (2/19). The best time to check for a change will be Friday (2/20).
Just a point of clarification, the IRS did not finalize this form until Feb 11, 2026. You can see this here: IRS Draft Tax Forms, Instructions for Form 4562, Depreciation and Amortization (Including Information on Listed Property).
Once a form is finalized by the IRS, it has to be coded into the special language the software uses and has to be thoroughly tested for calculations and e-filing acceptability. The IRS then has to approve it for e-file. It always takes a little longer for a form to become available for e-file in a software program. The dates are subject to change due to all that needs to be done.
That’s not the point. If that’s the reason then just say that. If you read the responses, you’ll see that customers were misled and left waiting.
