I filed an extension in April and filed Federal taxes In August. Turbotax asked me to file the state taxes only after my federal was filed. Now it's asking me to pay $64 just to file state. I've already paid.
Since you said "Premium", I'll assume you are using Online TurboTax. In Online TurboTax there is a fee to prepare a Federal return and a separate fee to prepare the state return. Efiling is free in Online TurboTax.
These are the current prices for Online Premium (prices were slightly lower last April) :
Federal return preparation $139
State return preparation $64
Total approximately $203 plus possible sales tax.
What exactly did you pay for originally, and how much were you charged? Did you pay $203 (Fed and State), or $139 (Federal only?)
You can view your fees this way:
Open your return, and in the left menu column click on the TAX TOOLS tab then subtab TOOLS.
In the TOOLS window, click blue tab MY FEES.
If you paid approximately $200 originally (i.e., for both Federal and State product fees) and now have another charge of $64 for the state return, here's how to phone TurboTax Support for assistance. If you get a robot, just say "billing issue" or "speak to representative about a billing issue."
