It is still pending because the IRS is not accepting any 2019 tax returns at this time - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-opens-2020-filing-season-for-individual-filers-on-jan-27

That’s not true about because the government didn’t open yet I know people that filed the same time I did which was one week ago and there’s all got excepted and mine is still pending also after one week and I’m wondering why also

Most TurboTax users will see their tax return in pending status until the IRS officially opens the return filing season for 2019 tax returns.  You can learn more about when that is expected to be by clicking on this link: IRS Announces 2020 Filing Season for Individual Taxpayers.

 

The IRS typically takes a sample of tax returns each year before the opening date in small batches to test the processing system.  Therefore, a small number of users will see accepted rather than pending. 

 

Once the IRS officially opens the filing season, it can take a few days for users to see their return status change from pending to accepted or rejected

 

At this point, a status of pending is normal and not an indication that anything is wrong.
